Downtime costs more than the repair does. We keep small and mid-size Edmonton fleets running — light trucks, vans, service trucks, skid steers and picker trucks — with scheduled maintenance, priority scheduling for account units, and parts sourced fast through our sister company. Call and we'll set up an account.
Ask a fleet owner what a repair cost and you'll get the invoice total. The real number is the day the unit sat: the crew that stood around, the calls that got pushed, the rental van, the customer who phoned someone else. On a service truck that bills a full day, downtime dwarfs the parts bill every time. So we run fleet work differently than retail work. We plan maintenance so parts get replaced on your schedule instead of at 7 a.m. on the coldest Monday in January, we tell you straight when something can safely wait until the next service interval, and we don't hold a unit in the bay over work it doesn't need. If a truck checks out fine, you get it back that day and we'll say so.

Scheduled Preventive Maintenance Programs for Edmonton Fleets
A fleet maintenance program is just a schedule with teeth. We set intervals per unit based on how it actually works — a delivery van doing short winter city hops is a different animal from a highway service truck — and then we hold to them. Oil and filters, brake pad and rotor measurements written down, tires measured and rotated, fluid condition, batteries load-tested, driveline and suspension inspected, DPF and DEF checked on the diesels. Every unit carries its own history, so we can see that unit 4 is on its third set of front pads while unit 7 is still on its first — and tell you whether that's the truck or the driver. Those records also turn a hunch into a number when it's time to decide whether to repair a unit or cycle it out.
Commercial Vehicle Service in Edmonton — Trucks, Vans and Equipment
Most small and mid-size fleets in this city are a mixed bag — a couple of half-tons, a cargo van, a three-quarter-ton with a service deck, and whatever heavy iron the work actually needs. We cover the light side completely: engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and steering, heating and cooling, electrical and diagnostics. We also service skid steers and compact track loaders, and bucket and picker trucks — the diesel chassis and the hydraulics, PTO and boom on top. One shop means one contact and one set of records, with no second vendor to blame the first. On inspections, be clear-eyed: Alberta's CVIP has to be signed off at a licensed CVIP facility, and we are not one. Most light fleet units sit under the weight threshold anyway. We keep yours serviceable and repair whatever an inspection turns up.
Cold-Weather Fleet Prep for Alberta Winters
Winter takes fleets down in batches, and it's always the same list. Block heaters first — every unit needs a working element and an unbroken cord end, on a timer set for three or four hours before start, because running them all night is a power bill for nothing. Batteries that limped through October will not survive -35, so we load-test the whole fleet in the fall rather than jump-start it in January. Summer-grade or untreated diesel starts clouding around -9, and any fuel can gel in a hard snap, so treatment and clean water separators matter. DEF freezes near -11, and a failed tank heater will derate a truck. Then tires — legal tread on a rutted, sanded road is not the same as safe tread. We'd rather do that work in October than tow you in January.
Fleet Accounts, Priority Scheduling and Fast OEM Parts
Fleet accounts here are straightforward. We invoice, you get monthly billing and per-unit records, we take PO numbers, and we set an approval limit you're comfortable with so a minor repair doesn't sit waiting on a signature. Account units get priority in the schedule, because we know what a parked truck costs you. Parts are where we're genuinely different: our sister company, Eskimo Auto and Truck Parts, is one of Edmonton's largest parts operations, with a huge recycled genuine OEM inventory, plus new OEM and quality aftermarket through our suppliers and shipping across Canada and the USA — so units aren't sitting for weeks on a back order. We also rebuild engines and transmissions in-house and install ATK remanufactured engines when a unit is worth keeping. We don't publish fleet pricing; programs get quoted against your unit list. Call (780) 482-2424 to set up an account.

Frequently asked questions
How much does fleet maintenance cost in Edmonton?
We don't publish flat fleet pricing, because a two-truck landscaping outfit and a six-unit service fleet with a picker aren't the same job. We look at your unit list — makes, ages, kilometres or hours, how hard they work — and quote a maintenance program against it, then set up an account with monthly billing. Individual repairs are quoted in writing after inspection, same as for any other customer, with no surprise add-ons. The number worth budgeting against is cost per unit per year, and after a season of records we can show you that per truck. Call (780) 482-2424 to set up an account.
How many vehicles do I need before a fleet account makes sense?
There's no magic number. We take accounts from trades running two trucks and from companies running twenty. Realistically the scheduling and billing side starts paying for itself around three or four units, once nobody can keep the service dates straight in their head. If you've got one truck and a trailer you're still welcome here, you just may not need the program side of it. Call and tell us what you're running and we'll be honest about whether an account actually helps you.
Do you service equipment as well as trucks and vans?
Yes, and it's part of why fleets use us. Alongside half-tons, cargo vans, cube vans and service trucks, we service skid steers and compact track loaders — hydraulics, hydrostatic drive, diesel, Tier 4 emissions and undercarriage — and bucket and picker trucks, covering both the diesel chassis and the boom, PTO and hydraulics on top. One shop, one set of records, one phone number, instead of hauling a machine across town to a second vendor. Certified aerial-device and dielectric testing is an accredited function we don't do in-house, and we'll say so rather than pretend.
How fast can you get a down unit back on the road?
Downtime is the whole reason fleet accounts exist, so account units get moved up the schedule ahead of general work. On most jobs the delay isn't the bay, it's the part — and that's where our sister company, Eskimo Auto and Truck Parts, one of Edmonton's largest parts operations, changes the math. Direct access to a large genuine OEM inventory, plus shipping across Canada and the USA, means far fewer units sitting for weeks on a back order. When something genuinely is on order, you get the real date from us, not the optimistic one.
Can you do CVIP inspections on my commercial units?
No. A CVIP inspection in Alberta has to be performed and signed off at a licensed CVIP facility by a certified inspection technician, and we aren't one — better you hear that now than after you've hauled a unit over. Most half-tons, vans and light service trucks fall under the weight threshold and don't need one anyway. What we do is keep units mechanically sound so they pass, and repair whatever an inspection turns up. If you've just bought a unit out of BC or Saskatchewan, ask us about the out-of-province inspection instead.
When should I book winter prep for my fleet?
September or early October, before the first real cold snap and before every shop in Edmonton is buried in no-starts. Fleet winter prep is unglamorous and it works: load-test every battery, verify every block heater element and cord end, check coolant and its freeze point, service fuel and water separators, make sure units are on winter blend and treated before the cold lands, confirm DEF tank heaters function, and measure tread on every tire. If a unit's battery, heater and tires all check out, we'll tell you that and move on to the next one.
