A high-strength red threadlocker in a no-drip gel for heavy-duty fasteners from 3/8 in. to 1 in. (10 mm to 25 mm), and well suited to permanently locking studs and press fits. The Gel Twist applicator puts the gel on the threads without drips or mess, and removal may need heat or special tools. Rated from -54°C to 150°C (-65°F to 300°F); not for plastic fittings or food contact surfaces.

Permatex High-Strength Threadlocker Red is ideal for heavy-duty applications 3/8″ to 1″ (10mm to 25mm) Red threadlocker is well-suited for permanently locking studs and press fits. Threadlocker RED adds 3,000 PSI holding power on slip and press fit assemblies, and replaces set screws and snap rings. Permatex’s Threadlocker Red locks against vibration loosening. May require heat or special tools for removal. The Gel formula provides “liquid-reliability” without drips, globs, mess or waste and is available in convenient dispensing systems: choose GEL TWIST® pin-point applicator or the GEL SQUEEZE® applicator.

Chemical Type: Anaerobic Dimethacrylate Ester; Appearance: Red Gel; Specific Gravity: 1.13; Viscosity @ 25C, cP (Brookfield RVF, spindle #3, @ 20 RPM): Gel; Flash Point (TCC), °F (°C): >200 (>93). Full cure is attainable in 24 hours at room temperature, 22°C (72°F), or 1 hour at 93°C (200°F). A 3/8-16 steel nut and bolt assembly will fixture in 5 minutes using a primer, while fixturing will occur in 20 minutes without a primer. Performance of cured material (after 24 hr at 72°F on 3/8-16 steel Grade 8 nuts and Grade 5 bolts): Breakaway Torque, Nm (in.lbs): 20 (175); Prevail Torque, Nm (in.lbs): 26 (230). Product temperature range from -54°C to 150°C (-65°F to 300°F). NSF Nonfood Components Program Listed (P1) (135870).

Treat rate

Apply threadlocker to the engagement area of the male fitting (usually the leading 5 to 6 threads).
