We source the correct glass for the year, make and door (tinted or clear, with or without the antenna or defrost lines some vehicles carry), clean out the door, check the regulator and motor while it's open, and fit and adjust the new glass so it seals at the top and runs the full track without binding. Vent Glass and Quarter Glass Replacement
Vent and quarter glass are the small, fixed panes — the triangle at the front of a door, the panel behind a rear door on a sedan, the side glass on an SUV's cargo area. They're the thief's favourite because they're cheap to break and out of sight. Some are held in a rubber gasket and some are bonded to the body with urethane, and the difference matters: a bonded pane has to be cut out, the channel cleaned and primed, and the new one set and cured before the vehicle sees a car wash. We know which yours is before we quote.
Back Window and Rear Glass Replacement — Cars, SUVs and Pickups
Back windows — the rear glass on a car, the liftgate glass on an SUV, the rear slider or fixed pane on a pickup — carry the most hardware. Defroster grids, a rear wiper, hinges and struts on a liftgate, the sliding centre section on a truck, and on newer vehicles an antenna or a camera bracket. Replacing one means transferring or reconnecting all of it and testing the defroster before you leave. Windshields: The One Thing We Don't Do
Here's what we don't do: windshields. No windshield replacement, no rock-chip repair, and no calibration of the driver-assist cameras mounted behind the glass. That calibration needs dedicated targets and floor space, and the glass specialists do it all day. Usually within a day for common vehicles, sometimes the same day; we'll confirm when you call with the year, make and which door. In the meantime we can tape the opening so you can drive it in. The hardware is the real work: defroster grids, rear wipers, liftgate hinges and struts, and on newer vehicles a camera or antenna. We transfer or reconnect all of it and test the defroster before the vehicle leaves.
Is quarter glass a big job? It's such a small window.
Small window, but not always a small job. Some quarter and vent panes sit in a rubber gasket and swap fairly quickly. Others are bonded to the body with urethane — the old pane is cut out, the channel cleaned and primed, and the new one set and left to cure. We'll tell you which yours is, and what that means for time and cost, before you decide.
My power window won't go up. Is that the glass or the motor?
Most often it's neither exactly — it's the regulator, the mechanism that raises and lowers the window, and winter is hard on them. Sometimes it is the motor. We'll tell you which part failed and quote the fix before we do it, instead of replacing everything.
Do you replace windshields or repair rock chips?
No. We don't do windshield replacement, chip repair, or the driver-assist camera calibration newer windshields need afterward — that takes dedicated targets and space, and a dedicated glass shop does it every day. We'd rather say so than take the job. Door, vent, quarter and back glass, sunroofs, and the mechanisms behind them are what we do.
My sunroof is leaking. Does the glass need replacing?
Usually not. Most sunroof leaks are clogged drain tubes — the small hoses down the pillars fill with grit and needles, water backs up under the seal, and it ends up in the headliner or the footwell. Clearing the drains and reseating the seal fixes most of them. If the glass is cracked or the seal is perished, we replace that instead.
