A 100% synthetic 5W-40 for gasoline and diesel engines that call for an ACEA C3 oil, with high HTHS viscosity and mid-SAPS chemistry that suits catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters. It is approved for MB 229.51 and meets VW 505 00/505 01 and API SN; its BMW LL-04 performance covers models up to the end of 2018 only.

BMW LL-04 performance applies to BMW, MINI and ROLLS-ROYCE vehicles up to End of 2018 only; for models from 2019 onward requiring an approved BMW LL-04 lubricant, Motul says products such as 8100 X-clean+ 5W-30, 8100 X-clean EFE 5W-30, 8100 X-clean Gen2 5W-40 or Specific LL-04 5W-40 must be used.
