A clear, general-purpose RTV silicone adhesive sealant for indoor and outdoor repairs that seals, bonds and mends glass, metal, plastics, fabric, vinyl, weatherstripping and vinyl tops. It cures to a waterproof, flexible seal that resists water, weather and vibration, and is rated for continuous use from -59°C to 204°C (-75°F to 400°F). Not for engine gaskets, and most paint will not stick to silicone, so paint first and seal after.

Permatex Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant is a general purpose, clear RTV indoor/outdoor sealant that seals, bonds, repairs, mends, and secures glass, metal, plastics, fabric, vinyl, weather stripping, and vinyl tops. SDS (Rev 25-Nov-2025): This product is not considered hazardous by either the US OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 2024, or Canada Hazardous Products Act (HPA) and Hazardous Products Regulation (HPR), as amended.
Not recommended for engine gasket applications.
Note: The curing process can cause corrosion to some surfaces, for critical applications use the Ultra Series silicones.
Most paint will not adhere to silicone. Surface should be painted first, then sealed.
This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.

The product cures tack free in 1 hour and fully cures in 24 hours. After 7 days at 25°C (77°F), 50% Relative Humidity: Hardness (Shore A) >20; Elongation, % >350; Tensile Strength, N/mm2 (psi) >1.5 (>218). Temperature Resistance: Continuous, °C (°F) -59 to 204 (-75 to 400); Intermittent, °C (°F) -59 to 260 (-75 to 500).
